Are you someone who loves to listen to relatable music online? Or offline? Do you prefer streaming music in an app that is convenient for you? Do you use Spotify, but you are not sure of how to get the most from it?

This article will highlight proven methods to ensure you enjoy Spotify to the maximum. If you have just been listening to plain music, then it is time to spice up your playlist using the tips below.

Spotify premium

When joining Spotify, you are given a chance to either join with a free account or pay some money to join premium. At first, you will be tempted to go with the free account. It is however limited to some features, and you will not be able to enjoy all the features when you use the premium account.

With a free account, you will not get a chance to listen to music offline, you have to be connected to receive access to the stream. Secondly, you will only be allowed to skip a limited number of songs in the playlist for a limited amount of time. To add to this, you cannot download a song or a playlist unless you have a premium account.

However, all this can change, and you can get an unlimited number of skips, download music, listen to music offline and listen to a song when you search it.

Create a playlist

You never go wrong with your customized playlist. You could have one to give you the motivation to work, relax your mind when unwinding, or one that improves your ability to focus. People sell playlists, others sell music with higher traffic, others get more followers and others use algorithms to suggest to your playlists.

With Spotify, you can create your playlist using songs that best suit your situation before working on anything.

Get paid

There are times Spotify encourages people to create playlists and get paid if there are a lot of listeners of the playlist. This feature is not limited to anyone, as all you have to do is to create a playlist and ensure you have an audience.

There are sites such as Spotiflex that allow you to grow your account, gain more followers and draw more traffic to your content online.

Celebrities are paid a lot by Spotify because people get to listen to their music. You do not have to be an artist, as you could do remixes to songs and get copyrights.

Suggested music

If you are bored and not sure what to play, Spotify got you covered. Their technology studies your music preference and suggests to you anytime you feel bored.

If you click on one genre, music will lay that is relatable to the selected genre, unless you make a different choice.

Quality sound

If you are someone who goes after quality sound, you need to get a Spotify account today! Their music plays in HD. Unlike some music streaming apps that will make you listen to radio recordings, Spotify is legit.

This does not mean there are no radio recordings. You will however be notified of the recording and the music quality.

Music is one of the few constants on this earth. Since the time of Neanderthals thousands of years B.C., music has been used as a powerful together. Music can be used to communicate sensitive information. It can be used collectively to celebrate and bring people together. On an individual level, music can help improve one’s physical, mental, and emotional state. In this article, we want to focus on the effect of music on the mind.

Lowers anxiety

Have you ever wondered what is so peaceful and awe-inspiring about walking through a natural park in the city? One could say it is because of the clean air and shaded walkways. But one significant component is the natural sounds. The sounds of the birds chirping and the critters calling to one another act as a form of music therapy. They calm people making them less uptight and anxious.

The same effect has been seen in rehabilitation programs and psych wards. Doctors and medics tend to play softer music to relax the patients.

Depression and music

Depression is known as the cause of many deaths across the globe. According to World Health Organization (WHO), the most affected age group is between 15 to 29 years old. During analysis and diagnosis, it was identified that social media and other online platforms played a significant role. As a result, cases of cyberbullying and negative thoughts have been on the increase.

Though it has been attributed with negativity, the internet can be a source of music thanks to streaming websites such as YouTube and Spotify.

The wrong music

Listening to a poor selection of music is bound to induce a negative response in a room. A DJ can give you some good firsthand experience on this. With just one song, the entire mood at the club can drop. The same can be said of a song that spoils your happy mood on your phone. Music can also promote negative emotions in a person. It has something to do with the rhythm and the tempo of the songs.

As you well know, music tends to resonate with us. From the examples given above, slow tempo and soft music tend to be calming due to the passive nature. On the contrary, faster music tends to be associated with chaos and uncertainty.

Music for the occasion

Think of yourself as a patient in a hospital. With the right diagnosis and medicine, you are bound to get better. Music is the medicine for your soul. With the right music, you can overcome challenges. Listening to music can help you feel more optimistic after a hard day. You can unwind while listening to some nice strings or chords.

If the current trends are anything to go by, we are only seeing the tip of a new wave. Social media platforms are becoming a must-have for any business, organization, brand, and individual. This is where you can get information on any item, expand your professional network, get business and meet your vision, mission, and business goals. It has proved to be quite the invention and it will only get better.

The appeal and challenge of music

That said, people are flocking onto social media platforms to engage current and potential clients. To make their ads and other content relatable, they are adding music. Why music, you may ask? Music resonates with people emotionally. With a few bars, you can be able to communicate a message or sell a product. With music, you can appeal more to your target audience. Your content can stick better and a potential client can better remember you.

Social media platforms are aware of the massive number of videos and photos that are being uploaded daily. As a result, this starts the battle that many have to come to dread, copyrighted music.

Copyright music is a musical recording or composition that is legally owned by an entity or person. Inclusive of ownership, said entity or person has exclusive rights to reproduce or redistribute work. The holder of the copyright has the right to earn royalties by giving licensing rights to his or her music. This protects the owner from people who may want to use the music without their consent.

Detection

Social media platforms use automatic features to detect copyrighted music. The automated process will flag your content and will take either of the following actions:

  • Your post will be muted.
  • Your stream will be immediately shut down.
  • Your post might be deleted entirely.

The Solution

Copyright music protects the rights of the owner from any form of violation. Working with the assumption that you don’t want to violate any laws, we worked out some options for you.

As you well know Instagram and Facebook are owned by the same company. To help, content creators and brands use music on their social media platforms, they created a library of copyright-free music known as Facebook Sound Collection. You should check the list of songs that you can use every time you want to post content. That way, all your posts (and your account) will be safe from any legal infringements.

Here are other options that you can use:

  • Seeking permission. If you want to use a certain type of music, why don’t you reach out to an artist or musician? Their handles are available online. Who knows? They just might say yes.
  • Collaboration. Social media platforms are all about working together to create custom content and boost each other’s influence. This might be a good way. All you need to do is work out what each party is bringing to the table.

No one can idea the role that music plays in our lives. Since the time of Abraham and Moses in the Bible, music has been used to express emotion and celebrate important events. In the current day and age, an event is not complete if it doesn’t have music. On an individual plane, music can lift someone from a dark mood and also communicate feelings and emotions. There is much to be discussed when it to music.

Today, we will be limiting ourselves to one entertaining topic; music preferences and personalities. Could an individual’s music choice be influenced by their personality? Why don’t you read more and find out?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b0vfuORDu28

The Reality

Ever tried to comment on someone’s type of music? Were you taken aback by their defense and almost violent reaction? People don’t like to be judged about their type of music. This suggests that you have hit something quite personal to them, at the very core of their individuality. The music genre is something that relates to the type of person they are. That’s why it is considered a personal attack.

Why don’t we look at the different genres of music and what they say about their listeners’ personality traits?

Country Music

Country music has a more traditional and conventional feel about them. Throughout the years, nothing much changes about them. Considered from that perspective, people who listen to country music are very conservative and stable. They are also hardworking and hold their cards close to their chests.

Pop Music

Pop Music dominates the top 40 hits and has a contemporary feel to them. The lovers of pop music tend to be extroverted and loud. You could categorize them more as sanguine characters. Their self-esteem is over the roof just like the musicians they have come to love and adore.

HipHop Music and Rap

There are many stereotypes about rap music. Lovers of HipHop are thought to be violent and aggressive but that is not the case. HipHop and Rap fans are peace-loving people with a very high level of self-confidence. They are pensive people, probably influenced by the lyrical genius of rappers.

Rock and Heavy Metal

Here is another heavily stereotyped genre. The music is often loud and fast tempo. People who listen to rock are often very introverted. They use rock music as an outlet. Some of them tend to suffer from low self-esteem.

Classical Music

Speaking of introverted people, classical music lovers probably top that list. You should not be surprised to find that a classical music lover knows how to play an instrument. They may have been influenced by the works of Chopin or Bach. As a result, they are highly creative and keep to themselves.

Does the above analysis hit the spot? Musical preferences can be quite a good indicator of an individual’s personality trait. You can also analyze yourself. Just take out your phone and open your music gallery.
